BMW Launches new range of Bikes

BMW has launched its new range of bikes for 2016 and the two that really caught our eye were the Cruise e-Bike and the Cruise M-Bike.

The e-Bike features a Bosch electric motor that’s integrated into the frame which can be activated if required to support pedal power. The electric motor, equipped with a 400-Wh-battery, offers a maximum speed of the electric pedalling assistant of 25 km/h. On the basis of up to 1000 sensor measurements per second, the BMW Cruise e-Bike analyses the rider’s pedalling power and identifies the optimal pedal assistance. Adding to the system’s ability to deliver efficient assistance to the rider, the on-board computer display shows appropriate shifting recommendations again based on the sensor readings.

The Cruise e-Bike is finished in Frozen brilliant white metallic paint and is offered in three different frame sizes – small, medium and large – and features lockable Suntour NCX suspension forks, 28-inch Rodi Airline Plus rims fitted with Continental tyres, Shimano disc brakes and Shimano Deore/XT gears.

The Cruise M-Bike is a limited edition offering in Long Beach blue metallic paint which will be produced in a limited run of 1500 units and BMW says it boasts exceptional dynamics and agility. The bike has a hydro-formed aluminium frame with smooth welded seams and weighs just 14.8kg. Like the e-Bike, the M-Bike features a lockable front suspension fork. With 28-inch wheels, a Shimano Deore 30-gear system and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, it has all the tools to deliver the last word in riding pleasure.
